Self Directed Learner
Being independent in knowing what is needed to be learned and learning it.
Merchant of Venice EssayThe Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare was a book we just recently read. For this assignment, we were supposed to take one of the main characters and do an analysis of what they represent and who they are. This exemplifies being a self directed learner because in order to do this assignment you had to read the book and understand it. Keeping up with the reading was not very hard but it was hard to take the time to understand it. Even though it was translated into a more understanding way, it took a while to understand how it was written.

Of Mice and Men Literary AnalysisOf Mice and Men was another book we read this quarter. It was a great story about two best friends. Just like the Merchant of Venice example, we had to pick a character to do an analysis on. We focused on seeing how the character developed throughout the story. This essay represents being a self-directed essay because I had to keep up with reading and take notes of important quotes throughout the story. Those note I took really helped me while doing this essay as a final exam. Using my notes and my understanding of the book I was able to excel in this essay proving myself to be a self directed learner.
